Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) gets new Secretary General

Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA), the premiere body governing 16 of the largest Direct Selling companies in India, today announced the appointment of a new Secretary General, Ms. Chavi Hemanth.

Chavi has over 15 years of cross functional experience in areas of Customer service, Sales & Marketing, Profit Center management, Event management and Policy lobbying with Corporates and Governments. She started her career with DHL and TNT Express Worldwide and went on to serve at Ravissant, the oldest designer Luxury Retail house of India. Later she moved to Minnesota, USA for setting up office and business for an IT startup.

Before joining IDSA, Chavi worked with FICCI, where she led important portfolios like Retail, Auto Retail and Young Leaders Forum. She organized over a dozen seminars and conventions that made strong impact on stake holders. Studies were undertaken by her division in the area of general Retail and Luxury & Auto Retail after intensive research. Issues based conferences like “Footfalls”, “Winning with Intelligent Supply Chains (WISC)” and Auto Retail: “Frame work for Growth” stood out as major events in the industry calendar. The initiatives of FICCI Retail Division contributed towards policy changes for Luxury Retail and Auto Retail in India.

• Protect and promote interests of the direct selling industry and its consumers

• Support and safeguard the character and status of the direct selling industry

• Assist and guide in maintaining qualitative standards in the Indian direct selling industry

• IDSA is the Indian counterpart of the Washington-based World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA), which regulates, strengthens and promotes direct selling in over 58 countries.
