As part of company’s plan to cash in Rs 100 billion from its private labels by 2012, Kishore Biyani-led Future Group, which retails products including FMCG, apparels, jewellery and books & music across India through various retail chains under Pantaloon Retail, has announced its plan to manufacture products like toothpaste, soap and detergents.
The group, which already has tie-ups with manufacturers such as Cargill, is learnt to be in talks with Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Hygiene Healthcare and ITC for manufacturing the products.
“We are making a new strategy of developing consumer brands,” Kishore Biyani, CEO, Future Group told reporters at a news conference. Under Pantaloon Retail, Future Group runs 14 retail chains including Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, Central, Depot, Pantaloons, Top 10, Tulsi, Navaras, Fashion Station, Star Sitara and futurebazaar.com.

Pantaloons, India’s leading fashion retailer, has announced the launch of ‘Pantaloons Dostana Collection’, a range of exclusive apparel, that captures the look of Dharma Productions’s much awaited film – Dostana. The collection will be available across all 43 Pantaloons stores, across 21 cities, said a company press release.
On the occasion, Sanjeev Agrawal, CEO, Pantaloons said, “Films influence fashion in India to a large extent.” However, according to Agrawal, new trends are set and reset with the release of newer films.
Earlier, Pantaloons has created merchandise for several films including Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Kya Kool Hain Hum, Krrish, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Tashan, and lately Bachna Ae Haseeno.
